The Unit Image Editor.
The unit image editor allows you to define the art work which you will
see on your units when playing the game. A default library of unit images
is loaded, with basic colors and symbology. This may edited as desired.
At the bottom right of the screen is the color palette. Foreground
colors are selected with the left mouse button, and background colors with
the right mouse button. The selected colors are shown immediately to the
left of the palette. The left and right mouse buttons will then be able to
place their respective colors on the unit image. Color zero appears as a
white, but when this color is used, it will be invisible on the play field.
The main unit image is shown as a blow up, and may be edited as desired.
Above and to the right of this image is the actual size of the unit being
edited, so a true perception of the art- work may be seen.
The "Fill color" button will paint over the image completely in the
selected color. Left and right buttons will paint the foreground/background
color, respectively, when used with this function.
The "Border" button will draw a border around the edge of the unit in
the selected color. Left and right buttons will paint the
foreground/background color, respectively, when used with this function.
The "Reverse F/B" button will replace the foreground color with the
background color and vice-versa in the image. This is an easy way to do a
quick nationality change.
The "Copy" button copies the current image to the buffer. The buffer is
shown below and right of the magnified image.
The "Paste" button copies the contents of the copy buffer over the
current image.
The "Previous" and "Next" button groups allow the user to thumb through
the available images. Note that no images below number 11 may be edited by
the user. These are reserved for the system.
The "Edit Units" button will return the user to the Order of Battle
Editor, saving any image changes that have been made.
To the right of the magnified image are a series of common military
symbols. Clicking on these will paste that symbol in the upper left corner
of the current image.
Above the magnified image are a sequence of numbers. Clicking on a
number will allow you paste that number in the actual size image. The
blowup will reflect the change once the number is pasted.
